App of the Day:
Cocoto Kart Free
Cocoto Kart Free–single player in-app purchases now FREE (App Store) is one of those apps which offer just 1 stage of gameplay with the option to buy more via in-app purchases. Today only, all the single player in-app purchases will be free when you start the game. However, the online multiplayer version still costs $2.99 (App Store).
Cocoto Kart is a popular racing game with accelerator control reminiscent of the popular Mario Cart. Players race against computer players, collecting power up items along the road. Power up items can boost your speed, fire weapons against other racers, and more. They can be activated with just a shake.
Why is it Great? Cocoto Kar is a fun racing game with lots of cool features to keep your eye on the road.
Other Great Apps:
RockinRoll
RockinRoll $0.99->FREE (App Store) seems like other puzzle games that have you matching 3 of the same colored items until you realize you can only affect puzzle pieces by tilting them as they drop. Yep, this puzzle game is all accelerator controlled. It may seem easy, but it is really hard when three different colored balls all fall down at the same time. You can tilt and move the balls even after they’ve dropped from the top portals. But if you tilt to much and have your colored balls touch those top portals, it is game over.
Why is it Great? Its a new, refreshing, and fun take on the tried and old matching puzzle game genre with its accelerator only control.
Alien Glyphs
Alien Glyphs $1.99->FREE (App Store) presents an original conception of an arcade survival game, which gives you the chance to meld with mysterious hieroglyphs of an alien race. While playing you have to find glyph pairs in the allotted time, activate power-ups, fight against mutators and escape penalties. You can train all your attention and reflexes to razor edged sharpness.
The goal is simple but challenging – to find the pair for each target glyph on the alien control panel and then strike it. You have a limited time for each glyph. If the time expires another glyph appears on the bar. If the bar is filled with glyphs, the game is over. Power-ups and penalties can slow down or speed up the timer, mutate or mix glyphs, and more. For each completed game you have the option to create challenges and send them to your friends.
Why is it Great? It seemed simple. But Alien Glyphs offers quite a challenge to delight puzzle fans.
