“Great Apps Gone Free” is our daily column that features great and valuable paid apps that have just gone free. They have gone free temporarily because the developers want their apps to get some exposure and user ratings for promotional purposes.

Usually there may be 20 to 50 apps gone free per day. However, many are crappy apps that offer nothing of value. We’ve tested them and filtered out crappy apps from our list so the apps we feature are quality apps that are actually worth your time to download.

Here’s a match 3 puzzle game with a different take. Your goal is to create as many items as possible by matching 3 or more of the same items to create a new item. Each item can be alchemized to make a new item. You goal is to eventually make gold bars.

This task is not easy. Like other match-3 puzzle games, if your stack of items crossed the top, it is game over. Since matching 3 of a kind will create 1 new item, as you progress in the game. Lots of items will fill your screen. It will be difficult to really create gold.

Alchemize also have many game modes that make the game even more challenging. Action mode and Avalanche mode will make you act fast. If you are too slow. It is game over.

Why is it great? Combine 3 items to create a new item. This puzzle game is one of the most challenging yet!

Nukkad $1.99 –> Free (App Store) is good twitter application with a functional user interface. But Nukkad set itself apart from all the other twitter apps with its awesome Google translate integration. Change all of your twitter feeds to Chinese, Japanese, Spanish, Korean, German, and more to view tweets in those languages. If you want to follow a Korean or Japanese singer, you can have their tweets translated to English. Nukkad even has a cool feature of changing a tweet back to its default language by just tapping that cell. Only that cell will turn and revert back to its default language. If you follow foreigners often, you might even consider making Nukkad the default twitter iPhone app of your choice!
