It´s Getting Hot in Here with the Pocket Heat App

There are some apps that you just have to try. At $.99 Pocket Heat (App Store), a new app by Help, Appreciate, Live, may be the most trite offering that 2010 has seen this week. Pocket Heat is just that… a heater for your pocket.

Pocket Heat overloads your iPhones system and warms your hands. I for one use my iPhone for, wait, phone calls so the idea of having no battery is a little disconcerting. This app will burn through your battery in just under an hour if fully charged.´

While the developers claim that your iPod touch or iPhone will suffer no damage, are you willing to try? Fortunately, or unfortunately I live outside of the US and have consequently been forced to jailbreak my phone negating the warranty. The idea of purposely melting the internal components of my phone is just not going to happen with the exception of having to write this review.

In Pocket Heat´s defense the graphics are great, it looks like a space heater and is rendered very well. Addtionally, there are sound effects that do add to the overall effect.

If you have a girlfriend who gets cold hands $.99 is a small price to pay for showing that you care when you reach into your pocket and activate this app.
