App Store Hits 3 Billion Downloads Milestone
App Store does the billion downloads yet again. This time it only took a little more than 3 months to hit that 3 billion milestone. In late September, with 85,000 apps in the App Store, shoppers downloaded 2 billion apps. Now, with over 100,000 apps in the App Store, apps are being downloaded at 350 apps per second since the last billion downloads.
The App Store is huge. It has changed the way software is being distributed. With other phone makers rapidly expanding the app market and new tablet based mobile devices launching this year, the app invasion is definitely coming to a gadget near you.
