Apple Joins AT&T and Verizon’s Battle Arena with New iPhone Ads
Verizon declared war on AT&T and Apple back in October with its “There’s a Map for That” ad. Since then, it has also released the Island of Misfit Toys to further ridicule AT&T and the iPhone.
But it looks like Apple had enough with Verizon’s recent unprovoked attacks. It has launched two new commercials that touts the iPhone’s ability to surf the web and talk on the phone at the same time. In the new commercials Apple mentions AT&T’s network for the first time. After showing off the benefits of surfing and talking at the same time, Apple asked, “Can your phone and your network do that?”
Although Apple did not specifically mention Verizon. Verizon is the nation’s largest CDMA network. And these ads seems to be Apple’s direct response to recent Verizon ads. After all, Apple do not have to tout this function on its ads if it weren’t for Verizon recent attacks on AT&T ’s 3G network.
So it seems Apple is teaming up with AT&T to fight a common enemy. How will Verizon respond? The drama continues.
