There are over 100,000 apps in the App Store. To compete for visibility, many apps drop prices or give them out free for a limited time. Among them, there are many apps do not offer any value that is worth our time to even download them and take up space on our precious iPhone/iPod screen.

Introducing “Great Apps Gone Free,” a daily column that will feature great and valuable apps that have just gone free. These are the apps and games that you should download and give it a try. It should be worth your while to spend a little time playing with it. Who knows, our featured free app(s) of the day may even belong in your iDevice for a long time.

F.A.S.T. (iTunes Link) stands for Fleet Air Superiority Training. It is dog fighting game that has sold millions of downloads. Fly in a full 3D, 360-degree environment with gorgeous graphics. Kill off enemy aircrafts or your best friend in a 1-on-1, 2-on-2 o free-for -all battles online. F.A.S.T has gradually lowered their price to 99 cents over this year. But now you can get it for free!

Why it is Great: It has sold over a million copies! Whats better than shooting down your buddies in the skies.
