Plane Crash Victim Tweets with iPhone.
What do you get when you combine Twitter, iPhone, and a plane crash? You have a someone that will give you breaking news just seconds after a plane crash. Twitter fanatic Mike Wilson was in route to Houston, Texas Saturday when the plane skidded off the runway and crashed into a ravine. A fire then broke out, damaging the right side of the plane. After Mike exited the plane, at 5:25 PM he tweeted “Holy f–king s–t – I was just in a plane crash!” This caught the attention of the media as Wilson continue to tweet about his experience exiting from the plane. “Ugh … My glasses fell off in the mass exodus getting off the plane. Can’t see very well.”– 5:57 PM Dec 20th from twitterrific.
In a later tweet, Mike described the scene in the plane as the plane crashed. “Whoever was on the left side exit row, God bless him, was Johnny on the spot and instantly had the door open – people crowded out in a mass. I made for the exit door as quickly as I could, fearing the right wing might explode from the fire. Once out, I scrambled down the wing.”
Contrary to initial reports, Mike did not tweet while he was inside the burning plane. I can’t imagine anyone who would tweet in the midst of a crash rather than get the heck out of the plane before being engulfed in flames. However,Mike may have earned the title for being the first person to be tweeting in a plane crash. Thank goodness no one was killed in the crash. We hope the injured with get well soon.
