Rumor: iPhone Nano Coming Soon to your local Walmart

Can the same case manufacturing company, XSKN leak information on secret iPhone products, twice? iDealsChina is reporting that the new iPhone nano will have the same height as the iPod nano and include, camera, sensors, but no 3G. They also say that the production of the iPhone nano will begin on December 20th.

Most industry observers doubt the accuracy of the rumor. First, would Apple release full specs to a company that had just leaked information on the iPhone 3G? For a touch screen phone, users would have difficulty typing and maneuvering on a smaller iPhone. Smaller screen may mean smaller resolutions, which may be incompatible to current iPhone apps. Shorter battery life is a cause for concern. A smaller iPhone may mean reduced usability and possibly lower customer satisfaction.

However, it is still possible for Apple to make the iPhone nanos. After all, cut-and-paste and flash support are still missing even after major updates. These omissions diminish iPhone’s usability and usefulness. Thus, why can’t Apple just introduce a fun iPhone for the kids without all the featured qualities that make the iPhone 3G so great? Lets wait and see if those nanos show up in Walmart.
