Why Isn’t Bing Banned from the App Store for Displaying Porn?
Before commenting on and discussing Apple´s censorship policy lets take a moment to simply address its hypocrisy. App Store rules clearly state that no application shall be distributed if at all porn related. The rules are “capricious” at best. A word the New York Times used in September of 2008. But unlike the recent approval, and same day removal of forChan, Bing, a porn viewers dream, remains.
forChan was approved in 12 hours in brazen disregard for Apple´s rules, and the developer was even more brash when he told gizmodo….
“I developed an app that is currently available in the app store. It’s called forChan and it is technically the first app with nudity that meets all of Apples requirements (hey, it was approved in under 12 hours believe it or not!).
It is a web browser/photo app. You have to enter URLs to browse different imageboards which do/don’t contain nudity. You can switch between categories to decide which uncensored content gets delivered to the previous URL (blondes, brunettes, etc, etc).”

Bing, however, lives. Is Apple afraid of angering big bad Microsoft? Methinks so. Whatever your personal feelings are about Apple´s porn policies..this is just delicious in its irony and dripping with as much hypocrisy, as many of the women pictured are covered in semen.
It´s actually a wonderful porn viewer that works just as the photo application does on the iPhone, small thumbnails then larger pics and the ability to scroll through them. As you can see on the left, it is a simple matter of turning Safe Search off and setting off down the porn trail.
Perhaps it´s time to just end this censorship all together. Clearly people can take naked photos and distribute them by mail using the iPhone. Should Apple not then do away with the Camera and Mail. Ban Stanza for the smut that could be read on this great reader application. Where does it stop?
Interestingly, if you set your iPhone to a region such as China in Settings as your default country. You will not be able to search for any porn related search results or images. We all know China is notorious for limiting freedom of speech. Even Google is considering pulling out of China due to censorship and human rights violations. Is Apple becoming like China? If so, please ban the Bing app until they have restricted all porn search results to comply with your own policies. Otherwise, stop being the morality police Apple and focus your energies on the next generation iPhone and the still unseen tablet.
